Horrible way to die and they didn’t deserve it, but at the same time I understand the police not putting themselves in serious danger to rescue them if it was a treacherous situation. The last thing the situation needed was a higher body count.

The only rational conversation in those comments is the first 4 or so comments in the thread about how alligators are really scary. But even that goes straight to hell when someone accuses cops of being the boggy men.

They surely deserved punishment, but one that fit the crime. Drowning in a lake certainly does not fit the crime. As for the racist bullshit I can’t argue against that with logic since there’s no logic in the comments. Speaking from first hand experience, there are good people of all races and shitbags of all races that’s because all races are just people, all equally prone to making bad choices.

It’s not just a car. It’s quite clear these people were absolute garbage. But no, they did not deserve to die for it.
